Golf Activities
Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club has something for everyone. From the highly competitive to the casual player there are activities to meet your needs. Below are a few of our most active groups.
The Men’s Association
Membership in the Men’s Association is open to all male members. The tournament schedule begins in April and runs through October. A variety of events including guest days, invitational’s, championships, inter-club contests, etc. offer something for everyone. Events are normally scheduled on Friday’s and weekends.
The Seniors Program
Membership in the Senior Men’s Association is open to all male members who are at least 50 years of age. The Seniors Program consists of a series of “home and home” matches with several other clubs in the North Bay area, plus other events such as an Opening Day Scramble, and a Guest Day. The season finale is the Seniors’ 2-day Championship, which is followed by a Dinner Dance. The home and home events are typically played with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., and conclude with lunch at the finish of the round.
The Women’s Section
The Women’s 18-Hole group plays every Tuesday from March 1 through the second Tuesday in November and have a series of “home and home” matches with other clubs. Members of the Women’s Section are eligible to participate in Open Days at other private golf clubs in Northern California and they enjoy a complimentary guest day once a month.
Women’s Niners
The women’s nine-hole group plays every Thursday morning and there are various tournaments and events. The Niners do carry handicaps. The group typically plays nine holes, followed by lunch, and then some players will play an additional nine holes.
The Women’s Evening Golf League
The Women’s Evening Golf League (WEGL) tees off with a 5:15 p.m. shotgun start on Thursday evenings, April through September. When the game is over for the evening, players adjourn to the 19th Hole for cocktails and dinner.
Men’s Business League
The Men’s Business League is a competition comprised of 10 member-sponsored teams. Beginning in late April, play is conducted every Tuesday night with a shotgun start at 5:00 p.m. Players are grouped in two-man teams and play head to head against another two-man team. There is a different format each week and players earn points for their respective teams based on the outcome of the matches. Dinner and cocktails follow immediately after golf.
Other Events
During the year there are kick-off events, Invitationals, Guest Days, Twilight Couples Hit and Giggles etc., for the serious and fun minded. Each golfing group has a variety of tournaments and holds a yearly Championship. Additionally, SRG&CC annually hosts the Vintage Crush Men’s Invitational (traditionally in mid-September) and the Women’s Invitational in June.
