Pool & Tennis

The pool is a facility that embraces family, invites neighbors to stop on by, and interacts with the community at large. We are a facility motivated by member satisfaction.

The tennis facility has two privately maintained tennis courts that are open daily to the membership, weather permitting.

The Pool at the SRG&CC is open seasonally from the middle of May through the end of September. The facility consists of both a men’s and woman’s lavatory complete with showers, changing areas, infant changing area, and commodes. We have two pools, a large pool, depths of 3 to 8 feet including a diving board and a wading pool with a depth of 1 foot.

We have a fully stocked concession stand containing confectionary treats and snacks. We have food runners that can place and pick up clubhouse food and drink orders, bringing them directly to the pool. During the swim season we are open 7 days a week.

The SRG&CC athletic department has undertaken the objective of integrating our current exercise programs, family oriented activities, and body oriented kinesthesia classes into a year round, comprehensive program.  As a department we want to build upon the foundation of member satisfaction, by maintaining open lines of communication with the membership participating in these programs in order to build and shape classes that best suit their individual goals.

Aqua Fit
Aqua Fit is a water aerobics class that employs an aerobic workout with low impact, resistance-based training.  The class is taught by our professional fitness trainer, Leslie Jaubert.  The program is in it s fourth year and has gained a following of dedicated regulars.
It is a great program to drop in on because the first visit invariably leads to a second, third, and fourth visit.  If you are new to the SRG&CC or a prospective member, then this is a great program to join.  Not only are the members, who frequent the class mainstays of the Club, they are some of the nicest.  This is a class that dedicates a good solid hour to aerobic fitness, all the while maintaining a congenial atmosphere for all who participate.

Swimming Lessons
The SRG&CC offers both group swim lessons and private swim lessons.  Our classes are taught by American Red Cross certified lifeguards who follow ARC water safety guidelines.
Initial assessments are conducted before the sessions in order to gain a better understanding of each participant’s goals and skill level.  Following the initial assessment is a detailed lesson plan that is tailored to maximize individual output and swimmer proficiency for each swim level.
We offer lessons in a safe and comfortable setting where each participant receives equal attention and encouragement to improve their water skills.
Our class sizes are small so as to engage the young participants affording them the leisure of learning at their own pace.
Our private lessons are offered for all ages and swim abilities.  Private lessons offer family members the flexibility of scheduling days and times for swim lessons.
Sara Poirier, water safety instructor, is on maternity leave for summer of 2010.
Please contact Allan Kelly for private lessons information.

Lap Swimming
Lap Swimming is open to all members 17 years of age and older.  It is an hour dedicated to personal training, personal goals, and personal accomplishments.  Lap swimming does not have a fixed routine.  It is strictly for the swimmer in all of us, it is your time to swim and work out as you see fit.
