Fitness

The SRG&CC athletic department has undertaken the objective of integrating our current exercise programs, family oriented activities, and body oriented kinesthesia classes into a year round, comprehensive program.  As a department we want to build upon the foundation of member satisfaction, by maintaining open lines of communication with the membership participating in these programs in order to build and shape classes that best suit their individual goals.

Fitness Facility
Our newly remodeled fitness facility houses top of the line commercial grade Cybex training equipment.  The facility is outfitted with flat screen televisions, a stretching/prep. area, and an on-call personal trainer who can tailor a fitness plan to meet individual goals and needs.

Yoga
Our yoga program is led by Kiana Rose, a practitioner of yoga for over 15 years.  She has dedicated a lifetime to understanding and mastering the different forms and practices of Yoga.  Kiana is able to take this diligence and apply it to her classes in the way she orients sessions to best fit the needs of those in attendance.  Kiana has the ability to design classes that are gentle and deeply relaxing, all the while building flexible strength that benefits the individuals own level of yogic development.

Exercise Power Hour
The SRG&CC exercise power hour will be new to 2009. This is a class that will stress high-intensity cardio fusion with strength/resistance training.  The class will focus on maintaining threshold metabolic output, while maintaining a low impact body workout.

Pilates
Our pilates program is led by Linda Illsley, a privately contracted personal trainer. Our pilates class is new to the Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club, presenting another outlet for the membership to experience our diverse health program.  Is it is our goal to incorporate classes such as pilates into a greater sphere that is SRG&CC Health.  SRG&CC Health will be a set, weekly program schedule acting as a network for individual members to participate in classes stressing exercise fundamentals that will produce results visible and unforeseen.

New Events and Formals
The summer events calendar for the pool at the SRG&CC has undergone some changes and a few new additions. These added events are meant to expand our community, connect with our neighbors, and build upon the philosophy of poolside ease.

The pool will be hosting social events throughout the summer months meant to enliven those warm solstitial evenings. The events calendar will extend through the month of September to include our first ever post-Labor Day movie nights.

The pool is a dynamic site to host events of all kinds. We are a facility that caters to that “certain something,” the expectation individuals have and are accustomed to when attending a formal event. The pool’s location set in the company of vineyards and sprawling dairy farms evokes the mood of living in Sonoma County. As observers, interacting amongst such openness, we become participants in this dance with the transcendent moment.

Summer Holidays
We are a Club and a community that is rooted by shared experiences and common bonds.  This notion of kinship is exemplified in our pool hosted summer holiday event.  Our holiday events are a time for family and friends to settle in and take a day off.  Our Memorial Day (May 25) event signals the formal opening of the summer pool season, followed in July by our Independence Day celebration that will last into the early evening.   Our Labor Day event (September 7) is an outing trumpeting the end of summer.
Each event is our way of saying thank you to the membership.  We plan an extra special day for our member’s enjoyment and relaxation at the pool.
